Simpson Washing Machine EC5 Error – TY5 Triac Failure

Description:

Simpson washing machine EC5 error indicates that the main PCB has detected a failure with the TY5 triac. Before replacing the main PCB inspect and measure resistance of motor fan/hot valve/water softener board as these components can also cause EC5 error.

Action:

  1. Inspect motor fan/hot valve/water softener board.
  2. Replace main PCB.

Simpson Washing Machine EC8 Error – TY5 Triac Failure

Description:

Simpson washing machine EC8 error indicates that the main PCB has detected a failure with the TY5 triac. Before replacing the main PCB inspect and measure resistance of motor fan/hot valve/water softener board as these components can also cause EC8 error.

Action:

  1. Inspect motor fan/hot valve/water softener board.
  2. Replace main PCB.

Simpson Washing Machine EC9 Error – TY5 Triac Sensing Failure

Description:

Simpson washing machine EC9 error indicates that the main PCB has detected a failure with the TY5 triac circuit in the main PCB. Replacing main PCB should solve EC9 error.

Action:

  1. Replace main PCB.

Simpson Washing Machine ECA Error – Dispenser PCB communication Error

Description:

Simpson washing machine ECA error indicates that there is no communication between Main board and detergent dispenser-water softener board.

Action:

  1. Inspect wiring harness and loose plugs.
  2. Replace detergent dispenser-water softener board.
  3. Replace main PCB.

Simpson Washing Machine EF1 Error – Drain Error

Description:

Simpson washing machine EF1 error indicates that the water level is not decreasing during drain pump operation. Most commonly EF1 error on Simpson washing machine is caused by a blocked drain pump filter. Also EF1 error can be caused by blockages/kinks in hoses and a broken drain pump impeller that is slipping and not pumping water out. If water is actually draining well and EF1 still appears, this could be caused by a blocked pressure sensor tube. Blockages occur frequently in washing machines and this makes EF1 error one of the more common Simpson washing machine error codes.

Action:

  1. Clean filter, check for blockages.
  2. Check pressure sensor tube.
  3. Replace Drain Pump.

Simpson Washing Machine EF2 Error – Foam Warning

Description:

Simpson washing machine EF2 error indicates that the machine has detected too much foam or water in the machine after draining. If there is no foam, EF2 error can also be caused by blocked filter, pipes or drain pump. If there is excessive foam make sure that you are using front loading high efficiency detergent. Non front loading detergents can cause excessive foaming.

Action:

  1. Check detergen type.
  2. Clean filter, check for blockages.
  3. Check pressure sensor tube.
  4. Replace Drain Pump.

Simpson Washing Machine EF5 Error – Out of Balance Error

Description:

Simpson washing machine EF5 error indicates that the machine is going out of balance repeatedly. This could be caused by a small load that can not distribute evenly around the drum. Or items that have tangled up casing one side of the drum become heavier than the other. Washing machine go out of balance fairly often and this makes EF5 error one of the more common Simpson washing machine error codes.

Action:

  1. Check load size.
  2. Untangle clothes.
