Dishlex dishwashers in Australia have always been regarded as a well made product. Even after the Dishlex brand was acquired by Electrolux the quality was still outstanding for the price.
But recently things have changed with the new models DSF6104WA and DSF6104XA that were introduced in 2020. As repairers we have noticed that something was off while installing these newer models. Everything felt cheap and flimsy. Practically everything has changed.

Poor quality could be seen as soon as the dishwasher was unwrapped. The body of the dishwasher flexed very easily. On a closer inspection we realised the body of the dishwasher was made with such thin sheet metal that it just barely holds the dishwasher shape. The dishwasher door also felt flimsy and flexed more that any dishwasher that we have ever seen. The internals of the dishwasher were the same low quality as the frame of the dishwasher. Spray arms and baskets look very cheaply made and it is very hard to say that they will last more than a couple of years. Control buttons do not look any better that the rest of the dishwasher and feel very cheap when pressed.
We also had a quick look at the internal components of the dishwasher and they were all cheap looking components made by manufacturers that we have never come across. And to top it off, the new Dishlex DSF6104WA and DSF6104XA dishwashers did not come with a drain hose clamp, this is a small thing, but how cheap can they get?
As we are a bunch of curious people, we decided to look more into this to understand what has happened to such a reputable and good value for money brand. We decided to have a look at dishwashers on Alibaba from Chinese manufacturers. And we found exactly the same dishwasher branded as a Midea for US$200. This fairly much leaves us to think that the new Dishlex dishwasher are not made by Electrolux, but are just simply rebranded cheap Midea dishwashers.
Our advice is to be very cautious with the new DSF6104WA and DSF6104XA Dishlex dishwashers. These models do not represent value for money whatsoever and this is reflected by the overall quality of the dishwasher.
